Champions League Round of 16: PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid roll; Barcelona, Arsenal crushed

Being eliminated in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League is considered a massive failure for star-studded Barcelona. However that is what they are facing following a 4-0 thrashing in Paris from Angel Di Maria and Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona’s brilliant attacking trio of Messi, Neymar, and Suarez were unable to score which all but eliminated the Spanish club from this years Champions League.

Unlike Barcelona, Arsenal has become accustomed to being eliminated in the round of 16 (every year since 2011). Being tied 1-1 at the half in Munich, Arsenal must have felt decent about their chances. But a second half onslaught from Bayern overwhelmed Arsenal 5-1. It was no match, and yet again The Gunners have been outclassed in the Round of 16.

And despite super-celebrity/athlete Cristiano Ronaldo not finding the back of the net for a change, Real Madrid still rolled to a 3-1 victory over Napoli. After an early shock goal from Napoli, Karim Benzema equalized before German midfield maestro Toni Kroos scored a classic Toni Kroos goal to put Real ahead for good.

But the peach of all the goals came from Casemiro, the 24 year-old Brazilian.
